What is The Fast and the Furious about?

Exhilarating and fast paced, The Fast and the Furious has a multi-layer car racing story as its focus. The central figure is actor Paul Walker and the movie is about the world of Asian automotive imports. A cop called Brian O'Connor is ordered to locate a handful of robbers, who use motors that have been juiced up to steal merchandise, by building an alliance with a group of street racers. He takes part in a street racing event in the desert in an altered Dodge Charger and comes up against ex-prisoner Dom Toretto. In the final scenes Dom is injured and Brian lets him get away instead of arresting him for his crimes because he has developed a friendship with him throughout the course of the movie. The picture fulfils its target to provide fast paced entertainment and keep the viewer guessing.

The Italian Job - a summary

Anybody with a slight interest in cars and classic movies will have heard of The Italian Job. The British film has collected a massive following and modern versions of the picture, released way back in the 1960, have since been filmed starring great actors such as Mark Wahlberg and Charlize Theron. The lead role is taken on by veteran actor Michael Caine. He plays Charlie - an ex-convict who brings together a team of mates to steal a shipment of gold from an Italian city with assistance from a trio of Mini Coopers, a bus and two Jaguars. A number of car chases follow through the city streets, highways, rooftops, rivers and sewers. The gold is successfully robbed by the team but their bus starts skidding on the road and they are left wavering over a cliff edge - the end credits begin to roll as the thieves work out how they will escape with their loot.
